An Awards Hat Trick

Balfour Beatty Construction has had a great start to the year with three of its projects receiving awards.

Aquatic Centre, Sunderland

Sunderland City Council held its Building Control Quality Awards earlier this year to recognise and reward innovative design and high quality workmanship on construction projects in the region. The £20 million Aquatic Centre being built adjacent to the Stadium of Light where the awards were held, won the award for Best Access/Community Project. The judges highlighted the professionalism of the Balfour Beatty team and the high quality of works being delivered.

40 Springardens, Manchester

The client, Langtree Group plc, received one of Manchester City Council’s prestigious Built In Quality Awards for the 40 Springardens project. The award scheme recognises high quality building construction in Manchester. Out of the 2,700 buildings inspected by the council’s Building Surveyors, 17 awards were made for outstanding construction projects. The project was assessed against a range of criteria including site safety, use of materials and access for all.

Hobmoor Primary School, Birmingham

Last but not least, Hobmoor Primary School has won an award in the education category of the Built In Quality Awards. The awards are organised by Birmingham City Council’s Building Consultancy service to pay tribute to organisations that seek excellence in their strategic and operational activities. A glittering awards ceremony will be held at the end of April.
